LED ZEP TOO
A LIVE CELEBRATION OF LED ZEPPELIN
Celebrating 40 years of Led Zeppelin

bobplant1Led Zep Too are considered by many LED ZEPPELIN fans to be the ONLY truly authentic homage to LED ZEPPELIN.  According to many UK promoters, they are one of the best, if not the best tribute band you will hear.

“Sure, at least half of the Zep tributes out there also aim to recreate the live arrangements instead of the studio tracks, but a more musically authentic, intense, and insanely loud version you'll not find anywhere. Why? Because Led Zep Too have captured the very essence of Led Zeppelin, adding an absolutely identifiable magic to the mix, and that's not learnable; it either exists or it doesn't.”
(Moaning Millsy)

It took 2 years to find the people, in excess of 200 gigs over 2 and half years, 2 vans, more drummers than SPINAL TAP! and just one insult to GARY MOORE for this outfit to prove, the old fashioned way, that they capture more than just the music and the look, but also as Millsy said........

......THE MAGIC!

Five years ago they started to assemble the pieces, three years ago they started on the road, and this year they will replicate the very first British concert dates performed by Led Zeppelin in 1968.

The group was featured on BBC1 TV as part of the Play It Again series as well as in other media, including a feature in the UK newspaper The Daily Star and numerous features across the BBC radio network.  jimipage1After the last few years of hard work, they now have reached a stage where their reputation precedes them.

Some key events in the Led Zep Too timeline:

*Formed in summer 2003, first gig in the winter of 2005.

*Gigged extensively from January 2006 (regularly doing three to four hour sets), in order to build a reputation amongst the already existing but lesser tributes to LED ZEPPELIN.

*Performed at the Boars Motorcycle Club Festival in Somerset, hosted by Glastonbury

*Festival’s Michael Eavis, who kindly lent Glastonbury Festival main stage No 2 for the event.

*Booked as opening act, and after being received so well were asked back on stage to follow the headline act after the agreed licensing hours.

*First full length online review of Tunbridge Wells Forum gig by "Moaning Millsy".  Famous in the area for his highly critical reviews, he wrote one of the most glowing reports any group could ever dream of.

*Headlined The Vibes from the Vines Festival in Sussex, supported by Gary Moore.
*Invited to play a pre-match warm up show at Arsenal FC Highbury for the home fans, TWICE!

*Banned from Myspace no less than 6 times, after our complaint they replied with an apology and stated they thought we had uploaded actual live recordings of Led Zeppelin!

*Performed Rock & Roll to provide live backing for the Air Guitar Competition at the Tin Pan Alley Festival in London’s Denmark Street.  The band appeared against the festival’s policy of original artists ONLY!

*Guitarist told he has the most authentic Jimmy Page sound by no lesser authority than Marshall Amplification's Signature Series Product development Engineer.

*Play it Again BBC1 reality show television appearance with Welsh Choir Boy Aled Jones learning to play drums performing ‘Rock & Roll’ live in Camden with the band.

*Special "wake up call" performance on Sunday morning at the Cambridge Rock Festival 2007, followed by an interview on the infamous Radio Caroline.

*Performed at Marshall Amplification's Christmas party, the only band outside of the company to have done so.

*Booked to play the launch party for the re-mastered "Song Remains the Same Motion Picture".

*National newspaper article features Led Zep Too's series of unfortunate events and suggests a link between this and the legendary Led Zeppelin curse.

*Radio interviews on Radio Glastonbury and BBC Radio Somerset.

*Invited to America by Russ Gibb of Detroit’s Motor City Music Scene, to support Joe Walsh (who sold Jimmy Page his No 1 Les Paul) at a benefit gig for the legendary Grande Ballroom, where LED ZEPPELIN performed one of their earliest North American concerts. Postponed due to the Eagles world tour 2008 (to be rescheduled).

*Blew all other bands off stage at Rock in the Park Festival 2008, Jersey.

*Showcased select dates in France including Paris in preparation for a full tour in 2009.

*Headlined Cambridge Rock Festival 2008.

*Invited to play Moscow & St Petersburg, Russia.

*The ONLY LED ZEPPELIN tribute band to have taken the initiative of booking up the actual venues, 40 years to the day, that hosted LED ZEPPELIN’s first ever UK appearances.

*November will see the band resurrect the legendary CRAWDADDY BLUES CLUB in Richmond (Surrey) and the infamous MIDDLE EARTH CLUB in Camden (London) for the first time in almost 40 years.

*In December the band will perform outdoors where Exeter Civic Hall once stood, in front of the remaining façade (fingerless gloves?!).
